24 people die after drinking poisoned liquor in Gujarat; More than 30 people admitted to hospital

A shocking incident has taken place in Gujarat’s Botad district where 24 people have died due to consumption of poisonous liquor. The dead include four people from Ahmedabad. Also, more than 30 people’s health has deteriorated due to consumption of toxic alcohol and they have been admitted to hospital. The condition of some of these patients is said to be critical.

The incident came to light on Monday morning

In the early hours of Monday morning, the health of some people living in Rojid village of Barwala taluka and other nearby villages suddenly deteriorated. As a result, all were admitted to government hospitals in Barwala and Botad cities. During the examination, it was revealed that the condition of all of them had deteriorated due to the consumption of poisonous liquor.

Liquor sale despite liquor ban in Gujarat

It has come to light that despite the ban on liquor in Gujarat, liquor is being sold in a non-medical manner. In this case, a special investigation team has been formed under the chairmanship of Deputy Superintendent Ashok Yadav and the investigation of this case is going on. Gujarat Director General of Police Ashish Bhatia informed that three persons were arrested from Botad district for manufacturing and selling fake country liquor.
