5G Spectrum Auction Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vi Prepare Battle : The first round of auction of Five G (5G) spectrum in the country has been completed. In this auction Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone-Idea and Adani have participated in four companies. Companies participating in the first round of the auction have shown a cold response. Now the situation will become clear in the second round of the auction. So it is unclear how long it will take to complete the auction process.
In the Five G (5G) spectrum auction, a total of Rs 4.3 lakh crore will be bid for 72 GHz spectrum. The bidding process will be held on Tuesday (July 26) from 10 am to 6 pm. However, this auction is likely to last for two days. It is totally going to depend on the bidders. Interestingly, industrialist Gautam Adani’s Adani Enterprises is also participating in this year’s auction along with other companies.
To participate in this auction of ultra-fast 5G sound waves, these leading companies in the telecom sector have to deposit an advance deposit amount with the government.
How much advance deposit amount?
According to the Department of Telecom, country’s major Reliance Jio Infocomm has submitted an advance deposit (EMD) of Rs 14,000 crore before participating in the 5G auction. After that, Bharti Airtel has raised Rs 5,500 crore, while debt-ridden Vodafone-Idea has raised Rs 2,200 crore. This year, Gautam Adani-led Adani Group, which is participating in the auction for the first time, has collected an amount of Rs. 100 crores. The pre-auction deposit amount from the telecom companies gives an indication of their strategy and plans to buy airwaves. Companies are also given eligibility points, through which telecom companies are eligible to purchase certain airwaves.

A total of 72,097.85 MHz of sound waves worth Rs 4.3 lakh crore will be made available in this auction for a period of twenty years. The central government has planned to auction a total of nine sound waves.
