A 23-year-old youth was killed by unidentified assailants in Karnataka’s Mangaluru district on Thursday evening. from Dakshina Kannada BJPThe killing has taken place amid tension after the killing of Yuva Morcha Committee member Praveen Nettar. Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of Praveen Nettar. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case regarding the attack on the youth and section 144 has been applied.

“A 23-year-old youth was attacked by four to five people around 8pm on Thursday (July 28). He was immediately admitted to the hospital. But by then he had died,” said Mangalore Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar.

“A gang of youths attacked with sharp weapons. A case has been registered in this matter. After the incident, Section 144 of Jamabandi has been implemented in Surathkal,” he also said. Meanwhile, in view of law and order, the police has requested Muslims to recite Namaz at home.

According to the police, “All the liquor shops in the commission area will be closed on July 29. We have requested all Muslim leaders to offer namaz at home. Action will be taken against the accused in this matter soon”. The police have appealed to the citizens not to believe any rumours.
