Former Minister Partha Chatterjee has been arrested by the ED in connection with the teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal. The ED has so far seized crores of rupees in cash, gold and silver ornaments and coins from the house of Arpita Mukherjee, a close associate of Parth Chatterjee. Arpita is said to have admitted that all the money belonged to Parth Chatterjee during the ED interrogation. Meanwhile, the affidavits submitted by Partha Chatterjee to the Election Commission have come before the media. Partha Chatterjee had said that he has only Rs 1 crore 48 lakh 676 cash in 2021 assembly elections. In the 2011 election, it was reported that they had only Rs. 6300.

Parth Chatterjee expelled from the party after the action

Enforcement Directorate (ED) action is on in the teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal. Four teams of ED have again raided the different properties of Parth Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee. ED is conducting regular raids at both these places. ED has so far received Rs 55 crore from two houses of actress Arpita Mukherjee, who is believed to be close to Parth Chatterjee. Also, due to the action taken against Chatterjee, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expelled him from the party.

In 2011, he had only 6 thousand rupees

According to a report in Aaj Tak, Arpita Mukherjee has admitted that all the money seized by Arpita Mukherjee belonged to former minister Partha Chatterjee during interrogation. Surprisingly, the election affidavit of Partha Chatterjee, who is said to have crores of rupees in cash, says otherwise. According to information received, in the 2011 assembly elections, Chatterjee had stated that he had only Rs 6,300 in his affidavit to the commission.
Talking about the total income, in 2011 he had shown a total income of Rs.11,64,55.

Investigation started by ED

Also in 2021 he showed total income of Rs.5,39,720 in IT return. Talking about cash, Partha Chatterjee had informed the Election Commission that he had only Rs 1,48,676 in the 2021 assembly elections. ED is investigating from where Parth Chatterjee, who once had Rs 6,000 in his possession, got such a huge amount.
