Money seized by 'ED' is not mine: Parth Chatterjee

PTI, Kolkata: “Money seized in Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids is not yours. Who else was involved in this conspiracy will be revealed in due course. A conspiracy has been hatched against us,” claimed Parth Chatterjee, the prime accused in the school recruitment scam in West Bengal and ousted minister on Sunday.

Chatterjee is currently under arrest in this case. When contacted by reporters while he was brought to the hospital for a routine medical check-up, Chatterjee clarified that the seized money was not mine. When asked by reporters if anyone is plotting against him, Chatterjee disclosed that he will know when the time comes.

On Friday, Chatterjee also expressed his displeasure over the decision to suspend the Trinamool Congress, saying that he was the victim of a conspiracy. He said on Sunday that this decision to suspend me could affect the impartial investigation. Chatterjee, who was once a minister close to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, clarified this time that Mamata Banerjee’s decision to remove her from the ministerial post was correct.

Chatterjee, 69, was relieved of various ministerial posts and suspended from the Trinamool on Thursday. Arpita Mukherjee, one of his close associates, has also been arrested after ED seized cash worth crores from his residence in some parts of the city.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is probing alleged irregularities in the recruitment of Group-C and D category employees as well as teachers in government and aided schools, as per the directions of the Kolkata High Court, on the recommendations of the West Bengal School Service Commission.

Chatterjee responsible for own fate : Trinamool

The Trinamool leadership objected to his speech, noting that Chatterjee was responsible for his own fate. Trinamool Congress state general secretary Kunal Ghosh had said on Thursday that why did he keep silent for the past few days after the arrest? He has every right to prove his innocence by appealing to the court. The party has nothing to do with this scam.
