Murder of BJP Youth Leader: Two Suspects Arrested

Bangalore : Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of BJP Yuva Morcha Samiti member Praveen Nettar in Dakshina Kannada. The two suspects are members of Popular Front of India (PFI). This information was given by the police.

District BJP Yuva Morcha Committee member Praveen Nettar was hacked to death with sharp weapons by three bike-borne men in front of his shop in Bellary on Tuesday night. He was killed while he was going home after closing the shop. After the murder, tension erupted in many places in Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday. There were incidents of stone pelting by the protesters and lathi charge by the police.

In this case, the Bellary police formed teams and started a search operation. Zakir (29) and Mohammad Shafiq (27) of the organization PFI have been arrested. Both are from Bellary and the police is probing whether they are related to the case. Additional Director General of Police Alok Kumar said that they will be produced in the court and demand their police custody for thorough investigation.

All programs canceled by Chief Minister

In Karnataka, many events were organized in the state to mark Basavaraj Bommai’s one-year anniversary as Chief Minister on Wednesday. But after the murder incident, Bommai canceled all the programs. Bommai called a press conference at his residence on Wednesday night and BJP National President J. P. He informed that the ‘Janotsav’ mega rally in Doddballapur, which was to be attended by Nadda, was cancelled. He also said that the government has decided to set up a specially trained commando force in the state to eradicate the anti-national and terrorist forces.
