The Municipal Corporation has said that meat cannot be sold on August 1, August 8, August 15, August 19, August 28. The month of Shravan starts from 30th July. In North India, Shravan starts 15 days earlier than in West Indian states.
According to the circular issued by the Municipal Corporation, strict action will be taken against anyone who is found selling meat during this period in violation of the rules in the Municipal Corporation area. According to a report by Times of India, just like Rajkot, municipal corporations like Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara in Gujarat will also issue directives in this regard in the next few days. Many surveys have shown that the number of non-vegetarians in Gujarat is low compared to many other states.
