Bangalore : The probe into the murder of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha workers in Karnataka will be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Friday.
Earlier this week, Praveen Nettaru, a BJP worker was killed. Another person was arrested in this connection on Friday. The chief minister clarified that since the case is inter-state (Karnataka-Kerala) it will be handed over to the NIA.
Meanwhile, BJP and Sangh Parivar are criticizing that the Bommai government cannot protect its own workers because of this murder, there is a feeling of anger among the BJP workers in the state. BJP workers have demanded to implement yogi model like Uttar Pradesh in Karnataka too. When reporters asked Chief Minister Bommai about it on Thursday, he said that if necessary, we are ready to take action on the lines of Yogi model in Karnataka as well. He further said that Yogi is the right Chief Minister for the situation in Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, there are different ways to deal with the situation in Karnataka and they are being adopted. If need arises, the Yogi model will be implemented in Karnataka as well. Apart from Anti Terrorism Squad and Internal Security Department (ISD), a special commando unit will be set up.
