Madhya Pradesh Police’s Economic Offenses Wing has raided the house of a government clerk and seized cash worth Rs 85 lakh. The action was taken after the police received a complaint regarding unaccounted assets. Meanwhile, the officer informed that the clerk had ingested the poisonous substance during the investigation in the house.
The Financial Offenses Branch raided the house of Keswani, a clerk of the Upper Division who had a monthly salary of 50,000. At this time, the officials have also found some documents, from which it is clear that the property worth crores has been purchased.
A search operation was underway by the authorities till late on Wednesday night. After finding a pile of money in the house, the authorities had also brought a machine to count the money.
According to the information of Superintendent of Police (Economic Offenses Branch) Rajesh Mishra, this clerk, who is working in the State Medical Department, has given information that the investigation team used bathroom cleaner as soon as they reached home. Keswani also pushed the police, preventing them from entering the house.

“He was immediately admitted to a government hospital. Currently, his condition is stable. “He is undergoing treatment for some health problems related to high blood pressure,” said the Superintendent of Police.
By evening, officials found cash of Rs 85 lakh in the house. Apart from this, property documents worth crores have also been handed over. It is estimated to have a total wealth of four crores.
According to the police, the house where Keswani lives is worth one and a half crores. Keswani, who started with a monthly salary of 4,000, was currently getting a monthly salary of 50,000.
