Eight new faces in Mamata cabinet including Babul Suprion

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has reshuffled her cabinet. Eight new faces have been given a chance in the cabinet, including famous singer and former Union minister Babul Supriyo. Governor Ganesan administered the oath to these new ministers in a program held at the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.

Famous singer Babul Supriyo was a minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet from 2019 to 2021. He was in charge of Environment, Forest, Climate Change etc. Departments. In the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, he was nominated by the BJP. However, due to his defeat, he decided to retire from politics and resigned from the Lok Sabha. But in September 2021, he joined the Trinamool Congress and was elected to the Legislative Assembly from Ballyganj constituency. Along with Supriyo, Trinamool Congress district level leaders Snehsinh Chakraborty, Partha Bhowmik, Udayan Guha and Pradeep Majumdar have been inducted into the cabinet.

Mamata Banerjee wants to give opportunities to more youth in the cabinet. So young faces have been given a chance,” said a senior Trinamool Congress leader.
