Maharashtra Political Crisis Live Updates Today, 04 August 2022: in the state Uddhav Thackeray And the Shinde group is facing each other and the power struggle will continue as the Supreme Court is unable to come up with a decision today. When the hearing started in the Supreme Court, Shinde group’s lawyer Harish Salve once again raised the issue of the 10th list. Harish Salve argued that the Defection Act cannot be an anti-dissent law. On the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray group’s lawyer Kapil Sibal opined that there is no need to hand over the matter to a larger constitution bench. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has asked the Election Commission not to take any decision till the next hearing saying that it cannot interfere with the powers of the Election Commission. Further hearing in this matter will be held on Monday.

In the hearing held on Wednesday, Chief Justice N. V. Ramana criticized the controversy of disqualification of MLAs from the Shinde group by raising the question, “Why is there an insistence that this decision should be taken by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly?” The Shinde group first approached the court on the issue of disqualification, but now the court questioned the change in their stand. Therefore, everyone was paying attention to what will happen in the hearing today.

Hearing is going on before the Supreme Court on six petitions filed by both groups on the issues of disqualification of MLAs from the Shinde group, no-confidence motion against the Deputy Speaker, Shinde group and Shiv Sena replacing the leader of the group in the Legislative Assembly, Chief Pratod etc. The Supreme Court had ordered both groups to submit affidavits in this regard. you Shiv Sena Chief Minister Shinde has taken the stand in the Supreme Court that the Shinde group claims that they have not left and the group of 15 MLAs cannot disqualify 40 MLAs. The Shiv Sena is demanding that Shinde MLAs should be disqualified for not merging with other parties as per the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution.

The Central Election Commission has given a deadline of August 8 to party chief Uddhav Thackeray and Chief Minister Shinde to file evidence to determine who is the original Shiv Sena. The Chief Justice was requested to hear a petition challenging that decision last week. This petition was also taken up for hearing along with other petitions.
