Browns suffers 'non-fatal injuries' in Miles Garrett single-car accident. CBC Sports

Cleveland Browns All-Pro defensive end Miles Garrett remains in care at the hospital as doctors assessed non-life-threatening injuries when he flipped a Porsche in a car crash after practice on Monday.

As of 11:50 a.m., Garrett was still being evaluated after the accident, which occurred hours after the team’s practice, on a rural road. Brown did not provide any details about Garrett’s injuries or condition.

Garrett’s agent, Nicole Lynn, said in a statement posted on Twitter that the star has been “vigilant and responsive” while receiving medical attention. “We are waiting to learn about his injuries,” she said.

On behalf of Garrett’s family, Lynn thanked medical personnel for pulling the 26-year-old and an unidentified female passenger out of her damaged vehicle and taking them to the hospital.

Lynn told the AP in a text message that Garrett didn’t break any bones and that she expects to be released from the ether on Monday night or Tuesday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said it responded to a rollover accident around 3 p.m. When soldiers arrived, they found a gray Porsche 911 Turbo S on the right side of the road, with extensive damage.

The accident is still under investigation, but the Highway Patrol said “alcohol/or drug harm is not suspected.” Garrett and his passengers were wearing safety belts.

Several local media outlets posted pictures of the damaged sports car, which can reach speeds of up to 205 mph.

Garrett and his teammates returned to practice Monday at the team’s facility in Berea, Ohio, after a long weekend following a 29-17 home win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night.

26-year-old Garrett was in the locker room after his morning workout.

It is not yet known whether Garrett’s playing conditions for Sunday’s game in Atlanta will be changed by accident.

Garrett just needs a sack to become the career leader of the team. He was held up for two assisted tackles in Thursday’s win over the Steelers. He missed an exercise last week with an unspecified neck problem.

One of the most influential players in the NFL, Garrett was selected by Cleveland in 2017 with the No. 1 overall pick. He set a team single-season record with 16 sacks the previous season, and recorded 61 1/2 sacks in 71 games.

Garrett has three sacks and a forceful fumble this season. The three-time pro bowler is often double- and triple-teamed by blockers. Last week, Garrett garnered even more attention from the Steelers as Cleveland ended Jadevon Clooney with an ankle injury.

Clooney did not practice on Monday, but has not yet been ruled out for the Falcons.
