Canada's Kelly Olinic trades Pistons to jazz: Report | CBC Sports

According to a person with knowledge of the trade, Utah continued to improve their roster, with the Jazz agreeing to send Detroit Pistons forward Bojan Bogdanovic for Kelly Olinic and guard Sabine Lee.

The person confirmed the trade to The Associated Press on Thursday on condition of anonymity because all the details — such as physical and league approvals — had not been completed, which prevented the deal from being announced by either team.

CBC Sports has not independently confirmed the report.

Detroit would become the fifth NBA club to own Bogdanovic. He averaged 18.1 points for the Jazz’s previous season in 69 games, all starts, and averaged 15.0 points over eight seasons with Brooklyn, Indiana, Washington, and Utah.

Olinik of Kamloops, BC is also joining his fifth team after having worked with Boston, Miami, Houston and Pistons. He played 40 games for Detroit last season, averaging 9.1 points.

Lee averaged 5.6 points in each of his first two NBA seasons with the Pistons. He appeared in 85 games for Detroit, seven of which were off the bench.

The move means that not all of Utah’s regular starters from last season are with the Jazz anymore. Bogdanovic had the second-highest scoring average in Utah last season behind Donovan Mitchell, who was traded to Cleveland. The Jazz has also traded Rudy Gobert to Minnesota and Royce O’Neill to Brooklyn during the off-season.

The only player who started more than six games for Utah last season and is still on the Jazz roster is guard Mike Connelly, who made 72 appearances in the tournament.
