Aaron Judge is chasing his record on the road, buoyed by rain on Sunday night.
Judge remained on 60 home runs, one short of Roger Maris’ American League mark, when the New York Yankees’ 2–0 win over the Boston Red Sox was called off after six innings due to heavy rain.
The big slugger went 1-for-2 with a double and was next for the Yankees when play was halted. The game was called after a 98-minute delay, sending the judge still to Toronto in pursuit of Maris.
But the four-time All-Star insisted he was not disappointed, unable to hit No. 61 on New York’s 6-0 homestand.
“You can’t think along those lines,” said the judge. “It’s not our last home game, so I’m not worried about it.”

New York have won seven straight and could take the AL East title with a win over the Blue Jays on Monday. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. ET.
The judge expects his parents to follow him to Toronto and appear again.
#BlueJays For, now it’s about WC seeding. They are 2.0 games ahead of TB for the top AL WC. SEA 2.5 behind.
TB, TOR: 9G left. Sea: 10G left. But both TB & amp; SEA has a tie-breaker edge > TOR
For example: If Rays goes 5-4, Jays must go at least 4-5 to stay ahead. If SEA goes 6-4, Jays gets 4-5 . should go
“Oh yeah. I hope so. They’re retired. They have nothing to do. So it’s better to stay there.”
The judge, who is on pace to score 63.9 home runs, has gone five games without clearing the fence. He’s 4-for-15 with three doubles, six walks and six strikes, making a return to the ninth inning since joining for number 60 on Tuesday night against Pittsburgh.

He came closest to matching Maris’ 1961 mark, having caught a 404-foot drive right past the center-field fence on Thursday.
The Yankees, who have 10 games left in the regular season, return home for three games against Baltimore this weekend before ending the regular season in Texas.
On Sunday, Judge started with the designated hitter for the 22nd time this season and for the first time since both games of the doubleheader on September 7 against Minnesota.
He hasn’t dropped out of the starting lineup since July 12, and Yankees manager Aaron Boone hasn’t ruled out resting the 30-year-old slugger while he’s still chasing Maris.
“I’m just playing it day in and day out,” Boone said. “Hopefully we can get to the point where we have a few days to decide which makes the most sense and how to relax where we can.”
